74 “The children of Israel shall encamp every man by his own standard, with the banners of their fathers’ houses.”

 Numbers 2:2

 Families are important to God and He stipulates in His Word that we are to gather together with Him under the banners of our family ties. God has set the lonely in families that they will be full of joy and be provided for. Families are beautiful to God and He is honoured when we live together in peace and comfort. It is not His plan that families should be broken or fall apart with problems but that we should find them places where we can thrive and survive in peace.

“God sets the lonely in families. He brings out the prisoners with singing, but the rebellious dwell in a sun-scorched land.”

 Psalm 68:6

 God wants us to live together in great peace and to honour one above the other. There should be no rancour in families but all be peace and under the banner of the presence of God. This is not the way of this world which does not encourage families but sets children against parents and undermines the sanctity of the family. We should strive for God-orientated marriages and relationships and seek the blessing of the Lord on them.

 The Lord will help us and we pray daily for our children and grandchildren that they will come to know the Lord personally and honour all His ways. Let us daily seek His peace with the love that holds the godhead together.
