84 “for a pleasant aroma to the Lord”

     Numbers 18:17

The sacrifice of our life is to be a pleasant aroma before the Lord for He takes delight in holy living and in deeds done in righteousness. This was the goal of the sacrifices of old, to bear witness to the devotion of the people to their God, and to please Him in all obedience and love. God requires holiness for us and seeks those who are upright and who will follow Him.

What can I do to please my dear Lord?

To walk uprightly and humbly accept His will for my life and obey His loving commandments.

“The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his loving kindness.”

     Psalm 147:11

We please the Lord as we walk in faith and do not give houseroom to depression, anxiety and fretting. These things belie lack of understanding of the Word of God and not holding firmly to His precepts. We must grasp tightly to the promises of God and apply them to the depths of our heart that we might live peaceful lives without doubt and fear. As we walk with the Lord in the light of His word, we please Him and our life becomes an aroma of praise and glory to His name.

Let us holdfast to our profession of faith and not doubt.

“But let him ask in faith, without any doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven by the wind and tossed.”

     James 1:6
