71 “You shall not wrong one another, but you shall fear your God; for I am the Lord your God.”

 Leviticus 25:17

 Here we have another iteration of the second tablet of the law of God in the ten commandments. We are not to do wrong against each other as human beings and are to have proper regard and respect for all. God is no respecter of persons and regards each human as precious and important. It is the interest of God how we treat each other, and that we should be merciful and good as He is.

“The second is like this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

 Mark 12:31

 Jesus sums up the second table of the law in these few words. We must be honourable in all our dealings, and put the wellbeing and comfort of others before ourselves. We are to be diligent to spread the good news of the gospel with every soul.

 We do what is right because we have regard for the Lord and what he has told us. We are to honour the command and put it into practice even in our thought processes. We should not dishonour anyone, but lift each person up before the Lord to have dignity and respect.

“‘You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people; but you shall love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord”
